Uses

Here are some of the many ways comfrey can be used:

  • Wounds ~ Comfrey is known to close an open sore in about 24 hours so I always use aloe vera as an antiseptic and often other verbs that have this property.
  • Scars
  • Bruising
  • Dryness ~ Especially great to use after a hot bath or shower. Pat off excess water from hands and feet, massage in the salve and cover with an old sock for a half hour. Your feet and hands will feel amazing! Great after gardening.
  • Exfoliation
  • Sinusitis
  • Hair Follicles
  • Wrinkles
  • Drawing Out Splinters (this is also true of plantain) ~ Make a poultice
  • Skin Rashes
  • Lip Balm
  • Pets ~ Dry skin spots, including around paws and hoofs. Scabs & sores.
  • Sprains ~ Use as a poultice on the inside of an ace bandage (possesses anti-inflammatory activity).
  • Accelerates skin healing.
  • Reduces inflammation.
  • Sunburn.
  • Itchy and scaly skin.
  • Healing and discomfort from bug bites.
